Originally built in the 17th Century by the Earl of Tankerville, we have a long history of providing comfort and warmth to travellers wishing to explore the beauty of the Northumbrian countryside. To this day, the hotel has retained its traditional spirit of hospitality and has garnered a fantastic reputation for its friendly and helpful service. We create the very best of Northumbrian fayre for our visitors to enjoy – our hugely popular Sunday lunches for example are a testament to this. We are passionate about producing top quality dishes, and for that, we need top quality ingredients. Northumberland EATS says...Nestled by the Cheviot Hills in the quaint town of Wooler, this family-run former Coaching Inn offers a welcoming atmosphere with cosy log fires, seasonal cuisine, beautiful scenery and a large beer garden. They serve hearty traditional food and It's great to see that they are proud to use and promote local suppliers. Wooler is a popular base for walkers and is referred to as the "Gateway to the Cheviots". and Chillingham Castle is only six miles away
The Tankerville is an ideal place to reward yourself with a meal after a long walk, especially with your four-legged friend as dogs are very welcome.
